Event Details

Nuremberg: Its Lesson for Today [The Schulberg/Waletzky Restoration] depicts the most famous courtroom drama in modern times, and the first to make extensive use of film as evidence. It was also the first trial to be extensively documented, aurally and visually. All of the proceedings, which lasted for nearly 11 months, were recorded. Nuremberg: Its Lesson for Today was meant to be shown in the United States as a stirring example of American and Allied justice, and as a lesson for posterity, but was ultimately used primarily as part of the postwar campaign to de-Nazify and re-educate German society. It wasn’t until quite recently that the film has been restored and made available to a wide audience outside Germany.

Join us for this rare opportunity to view this extraordinary film. The screening will be followed by a question and answer session with Sandra Schulberg, the producer of the restoration and the filmmaker's daughter.

Please note: this film contains stark and potentially distressing historical footage, and is not recommended for a young audience.
